Agathon University operates on the semester basis. The academic year consists of two semesters of 15 weeks each. The Fall Semester is September 1-December 31. The Spring Semester is January 1-May 30. Enrollments June 1-August 31 may be classified Fall or Spring at the discretion of Agathon administration.
Course Duration and Format
Agathon utlizes a rolling enrollment model, meaning learners can enroll at any point during a semester.
All courses are offered online and asynchronously, and may be undertaken at the learners own pace in as little as 4 weeks from the date of enrollment, or in as many as 16 weeks from the date of enrollment. The period of enrollment for each course is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 16 weeks from the date of enrollment.
Each learner is assigned a Mentoring Faculty to guide them through the course, and to provide substantive interaction for the duration of the course.
In addition to the asynchronous, online model, some courses are also offered synchronously and in person, in a conference format. These Conference Courses can be taken asynchronously or synchronously, at the learner’s pace, within the 4-16 week duration.
Extensions and Reenrollment
If the couse duration has expired with the Learner having earned a 90 or above in the course to date, and if the Learner has made substantive progress (as determined by the Mentoring Faculty), but has not completed all assigned work, the Learner may request an extension from the Registrar’s office at a cost of $100, to be approved at the discretion of the Registrar’s office in conjunction with the Mentoring Faculty.
If either the Learner has not made substantive progress or does not hold a grade of 90 or above in the course at the time of expiration, then in order to reenroll in the course, the Learner must pay the full tuition.
